Laurence CurryAcademy Instructor

Mr. Curry has been working professionally as an actor, dancer, martial artist (Black Belt in Tae Kwando, Caporiera Brazilian fight dance), and choreographer over fifteen years. He also works with youth offenders as a Family Preservation specialist. Mr. Curry has a bachelor’s degree from the University of Northern Colorado in Theatre and Dance Performance and is a member of the Screen Actors Guild and Actors Equity. Movie credits include: Asteroid, Strange Land, Things to Do in Denver When Your Dead, and Picture of Priority. National commercials: Coors Light, Nintendo, Ford, and Schwinn. Professional dance companies: Oakland’s Savage Jazz Dance Company, Storm, Monster Shop Bumpin, and Elevate. A few favorite roles performed on stage include the Denver Center Theatre Company’s production of A Streetcar Named Desire, Theatre Aspen’s Smokey Joes Café, and the Arvada Centers production of Aida. Mr. Curry has a deep love for awakening an actor’s anatomical awareness and its endless possibilities to character work.
