
Doug is ecstatic to have spent the last three years in MFA training at the National Theatre Conservatory, culminating with the NTC REP as Claudius in
Hamlet and Madame Pernelle in
Tartuffe. With the Denver Center Theatre Company, Doug appeared in
A Prayer for Owen Meany (Major Rawls) directed by Bruce Sevy,
A Raisin in the Sun (Moving Man) directed by Israel Hicks, and the Hellesen and de Berry adaptation of
A Christmas Carol (Fezziwig Suitor and Ensemble). He was also seen in the Colorado Shakespeare Festival productions of
Much Ado About Nothing (Borachio) directed by Lynne Collins and
To Kill a Mockingbird (Tom Robinson) directed by Jane Page. Some of his favorite roles at the NTC include Hud in
Hair, Harley in
A Tale Told,
Mad Forest, and of course,
Changing Tides, his Solo Shakespeare project! Other favorites include
Salome and
All’s Well That End’s Well at PlayMakers Repertory Company, and the outdoor dramas
Blue Jacket and
Horn in The West. A native North Carolinian, Doug studied theatre at the National Theatre Conservatory, North Carolina Central University, and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and dance at Duke University.
