Academy Instructor
Ms. Penner is a Teaching Artist at the Denver Center Theatre Academy as well as an actor and director. She has taught and directed students at the National Theatre Conservatory graduate acting program, The University of Denver, Denver School of the Arts, and Kunsmiller Creative Arts Academy, among many others. For the past five summers she has co-managed the Academy’s High School Intensive and directed teen performers in Alice in Wonderland, Our Town, and an original, student-written piece. Other directing work includes Arabian Nights and Julius Caesar, both at Denver School of the Arts. Acting work includes productions with the Arvada Center and Modern Muse, commercials, and many regional credits in New York City and New England. She holds an MFA in acting from Columbia University and a BA from Amherst College.
